Christmas isn’t cancelled! This year, we are taking our own version of a “Christmas meal” to individuals and families in our community who are struggling. There are so many ways you can get involved with Christmas at the Mission this year. See below for all the ways you can support us, whether you want to sponsor a turkey through donating financially, buy Christmas goodies for our 12 Days of Christmas appeal, make a luxury hamper, order our Christmas cards or sponsor our song! See all the options below…..

Sponsor a Turkey!

Why not sponsor a turkey? We want to provide Christmas turkeys for over 100 struggling families this Christmas. It’s easy to do. Just head to our Just Giving page by clicking “Sponsor a Turkey” below, and “donate” a turkey or 2. The turkeys we want to buy are around £15 each.

If you want to donate a frozen turkey, it can be brought to the Mission any Monday-Thursday between 10am and 12Noon. Thank you so much.

The 12 Days of Christmas

Fancy buying some Christmas treats? We all know that the 12 Days of Christmas traditionally come after Christmas, but we are holding an appeal to help us collect Christmassy items that will go into hampers for people in need. Simply buy an item a day, or as many as you want, and we’ll use them to make fantastic Christmas hampers.

Bring your gifts to the Mission any Monday-Thursday up to and including Friday 18th December, between 10am and 12Noon. The photograph above shows the items we need!

Create a Christmas Hamper

People can’t come to the Mission for Christmas dinner this year, so we want to take a special Christmas hamper to them. If you’re feeling a bit crafty, why not decorate a box or basket and fill it with goodies. Just let your creative juices flow!

We suggest any of the items from the 12 Days of Christmas appeal and any of the following: Small Christmas cake, Christmas nibbles, small selection box, tea, coffee, shower wash, Christmas sweets, bottle of fizzy pop or anything else that takes your fancy! (No alcohol please)

Bring your hamper to the Mission any Monday-Thursday up to and including Friday 18th December, between 10am and 12Noon.

Toy Appeal

Each year at Charles Thompson’s Mission, we run a Toy Appeal which involves distributing new toys to families who may be struggling over Christmas. Last year, our Christmas Toy Appeal meant we could give away sacks of toys to more than 300 children.

We are open for new toy donations at the Mission between 10am and 12Noon Monday-Thursday up to 16th December. There are other drop-off points available – please see below.

Mission Christmas Cards

Our packs of 9 Christmas cards come with 3 each of 3 designs, professionally printed and a real trip down memory lane. Only £5 for two packs and that includes postage! (Four packs for £10.) If you want a larger amount, just email your request to ctmission@icloud.com

To order your cards, please email your name, order requirements and postal address to ctmission@icloud.com and we’ll get in touch about how to pay and will confirm delivery details.

“Come to the Mission” Christmas song

Although we won’t be able to welcome people into the Mission building this year, we want to continue to provide the vital services and deliveries to our local community in the new year. By sponsoring our Christmas song, you’ll help us to do just that.

Listen to it here, and then head to our Just Giving page by clicking “Donate here” below. Your money will go towards our “Sponsor a Turkey” appeal. Any contribution towards a turkey, or just a leg (!) is very much appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your tremendous support!
